Who we are:

The Jackson Philatelic Society (JPS) is an active group of philatelic enthusiasts and a point of contact for the public in all philatelic related queries. The society is an educational organization fostering the knowledge and understanding of geography, history and cultures, both in a national as well as an international context, through the collection and exchange of US and international postage stamps. The society is a member of the non-profit American Philatelic Society, based in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.

Membership: The society is open to everybody over the age of 16 who is interested in the collection and history of postage stamps. Children (under 16) of members are welcome as Junior Members, but need to be accompanied by an adult parent, when attending meetings.

Membership Dues: Annual membership: individual $ 5; family $10.-; There are no fees for Junior Members and members under 18 years of age.

Meeting Place / Time: The society meets every 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:00 am at the Hindu Temple in Brandon, MS, 173 Vernon Jones Avenue.

Due to the current health situation, we cannot meet in person, but, until further notice, have Zoom meetings on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:00 am.

Normal meeting agenda: business meeting – door prizes – short presentation (10 – 15 minutes) on any philatelic subject – break / socializing – auction of philatelic items for sale or donated by members.

Service: If you have a stamp collection or accumulation, which you desire to sell, dispose of or donate, contact us and a member of the JPS may be able to assist you in the valuation of it.
