Good News

The Jackson Philatelic Society is finally able to meet in person again. The next meeting will be at 10 am on April 17 at the Hindu Temple in Brandon. The address is 173 Vernon Jones Ave, which is off Old Fannin Road. If you are coming from the North (Spillway Rd.) go south on Old Fannin Road and take the 5th road on your right (Vernon Jones Ave). If you are coming from the South (Flowood Drive) go north on Old Fannin Road. Vernon Jones Ave is about the 10th street on your left. You will see the temple after about half a mile on your left. Go through the gate and park. Our meeting room is in the annex to the temple building. Please note, that the temple itself is off limits to non-members of the Hindu faith.

Also, we will wear facemasks and maintain social distancing during the meeting.

We will have to set up tables and chairs. So please, if possible, come a few minutes early to help with the setup for the meeting.

Castillo de San Marcos

On April 9, booklet of 20 with four different designs themed around espresso drinks will be issued.

Espresso Drinks
(Frankly, sometimes, I wonder who sits on the USPS committee for new stamps and selects an ever-increasing number of “memorable” issues. Remember the times, when stamps used to be precisely engraved pieces of art?)

It’s AUCTION time

After a long hiatus, at our next meeting, we will have again an auction of stamps and philatelic material. Please bring any material, which you want to auction off to the meeting accompanied by a filled-out auction slip.
